Volunteer for Camp Artaban Work Weekend June 5th
By Brian Walks • May 23rd, 2009 • Category: Weekly MessageThe 2009 camping season at Camp Artaban is just around the corner. St. Cuthbert’s have invited the people of St. Mark’s to join them for their annual work weekend at Camp Artaban.
We will leave Horseshoe Bay after dinner on Friday, June 5th and return on Sunday afternoon. For those who did not already sign-up, there will be more details and a sign-up sheet available on Sunday, May 24th.
Camp Artaban is an Anglican camp located on scenic Gambier Island. It provides children, youth and adults with opportunities for personal and spiritual growth in a fun, recreational environment. Camp Artaban’s activities include sailing, canoeing, swimming, the Blob, hiking, volleyball, climbing walls, crafts, camp fires, music and games. Each morning there’s an upbeat service in the natural setting of the outdoor chapel.
The May issue of TOPIC has an article on how to volunteer for Camp Artaban. There are also summer job opportunities at Camp Artaban. Visit the Camp Artaban web site at www.campartaban.com.
We look forward to seeing you on June 5th!
