We continue our summer sermon series exploring the stories of the Hebrew Scriptures and the wisdom our spiritual ancestors still have to share with us today. This morning we find Jacob beside the river Jabbok, wrestling through the night with the Angel of the Lord. It is one of the Bible's strangest and most compelling stories. Why would God meet someone in a struggle? And what good news might we discover in this ancient story for our own lives today?
